Graduate Students - Richard Augustus "Gus"Wathen - Gus is studying the interactive ecology of Atlantic salmon and smallmouth bass juveniles. His laboratory work includes building (along with Joe Z. and Casey Jackson) and implementing an artificial stream tank equipped with an array of PIT-tag antenna to monitor mesohabitat use patternsof sympatric and allopatric ATS and SMB. This lab work will be complemented with an observational field study of microhabitat use. Paul Damkot - when not terrorizing juvenile smallmouth bass, Paul (left) is studying riparian forest effects on brook trout bioenergetics in the White Mountains of western Maine and northern New Hampshire. He is also the teaching assistant for WLE 340 Freshwater Fisheries Ecology and Management and WLE 220 Statistical Ecology. Cory Gardner - Cory is investigating fish community responses to dam removal in the Sedgeunkedunk Stream watershed, and is a teaching assistant for General Ecology. Undergraduate Students -
